About Pippy Oak Slabs

Our Pippy Oak Slabs are carefully selected to showcase one of the most distinctive natural characteristics found in European Oak. The characteristic pippy figure is created by clusters of small pin knots and natural growth features that appear as attractive “cat's paws,” scattered eyes, and knot clusters across the surface of the timber.
Pippy Oak typically features a warm light brown to golden-brown heartwood, contrasting sapwood, prominent grain, and attractive natural character. Depending on how the slab is sawn, the timber can also display beautiful ray fleck and additional decorative figure.
Each slab is naturally unique, making Pippy Oak particularly desirable for statement furniture and high-end interior projects. Heavy-pippy and burr grades can contain a much greater concentration of cat's paws, knots, and burr-like features, creating exceptionally decorative surfaces.
We supply Pippy Oak slabs in custom dimensions, with options suitable for furniture manufacturers, architects, interior designers, woodworkers, and private customers. Depending on availability, slabs can be supplied rough-sawn or prepared for further machining and finishing.
