Masur Birch, also known as Karelian Birch, is one of the rarest and most sought-after ornamental hardwoods in the world. Unlike most figured woods, its signature marbled, flame-like grain pattern runs through the entire trunk rather than being confined to a burl, giving woodworkers a nearly unlimited variety of chatoyant, swirling figure to work with. Our AAA+ grade slabs are hand-selected from mature Finnish Karelian Birch trees, harvested in winter to preserve the wood's natural color and prevent sap staining.
