About European Wild Cherry Logs & Timber

European Wild Cherry (Prunus avium) is one of the most visually striking hardwoods in European forestry. Freshly cut, the heartwood is a pale pinkish-brown that deepens over time to a rich, warm reddish-brown with a satiny lustre. The grain is typically straight with a fine, even texture and occasional gentle figuring. Density is moderate at approximately 600 kg/m³. Cherry is easy to work — it machines, turns, carves, and finishes to an exceptionally high standard, accepting oil, wax, and lacquer finishes equally well. EU-TIMBER supplies PEFC-certified wild cherry logs from certified Belgian woodlands. Highly regarded for fine furniture, cabinetry, musical instrument components, turned decorative pieces, and high-end interior joinery.
