About European Scots Pine Logs & Timber

Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is Europe's most widely distributed native pine and one of the most commercially important softwoods on the continent. The heartwood is pale orange-brown to reddish-brown, clearly distinct from the pale yellowish-white sapwood. Density is around 510 kg/m³ — slightly denser and more resinous than spruce, giving it better natural durability (Class 3). The straight grain and moderate strength make it suitable for a wide range of construction and joinery applications. Its natural resin content provides inherent resistance to decay and insects, which can be further enhanced with preservative treatment. EU-TIMBER supplies PEFC-certified Scots pine logs from certified Belgian and Scandinavian forests. Suitable for structural timber, cladding, windows, doors, floors, fencing, and rustic furniture.
